EIOG Co-Sponsors Rivers Alive Events
Environmental
Institute of Georgia has teamed-up with partners in Fayette County,
Fayetteville, and Tyrone to sponsor five Rivers Alive events this fall.
Rivers Alive is Georgia's annual volunteer waterway cleanup event that targets all waterways in the State including streams, rivers, lakes, beaches, and wetlands.
The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia's water resources.
Rivers Alive is held annually each fall and is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division's Georgia Adopt-A-Stream Program and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs' Keep Georgia Beautiful Program, in cooperation with Help the Hooch.
This year, participants in the EIOG-sponsored events will receive a special t-shirt designed by the Art Contest Winner from the 2009 Fayette County Earth Day.
